What is the Issue?
During the meeting, several critical issues were discussed at length, including the regularization of affected homes of villagers and farmers, the relocation of reservations such as gardens, open spaces, and other designations imposed on farmers’ lands, and the implementation of UDCPR provisions to legalize constructions near village settlements. Additionally, the discussion covered the provision of increased Floor Space Index (FSI) for redevelopment, fair compensation and rehabilitation for farmers affected by road projects, and the need for effective communication with farmers and villagers to address their concerns.
CIDCO’s Approach
CIDCO administration adopted a positive approach toward resolving these issues. MLA Vikrant Patil assured that necessary efforts and follow-ups would be made in the coming period to ensure these concerns would be addressed. The meeting was attended by Konkan MHADA Chairman Balasaheb G. Patil, CIDCO Managing Director Vijay Singhal, Deputy Managing Directors Shantanu Goyal and Ganesh Deshmukh, Chief Land Survey Officer Samadhan Khatkale, and Chief Planning Officer S. Mankar, among others.
Why are villagers not happy?
The issue of the 40% plot reservation was also a major focus of the meeting, with demands for an immediate decision on relocating reserved spaces such as gardens and open spaces from farmers’ lands. The discussions concluded with a strong commitment to continuous efforts and follow-ups to bring about effective solutions.
