Date:

Navi Mumbai– Cracking down on illegal constructions, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) carried out a major encroachment removal drive in Belapur. Despite repeated notices, property owners failed to comply, prompting the civic body to take strict action.

The demolition was conducted under the directives of NMMC Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, with oversight from Additional Commissioner Dr. Rahul Gethe and Deputy Commissioner (Encroachment) Mr. Bhagwat Doifode. The targeted structures were located at Mahesh Building, Sector 15, CBD Belapur, where Mr. Manish Kukreja and others had carried out unauthorized modifications.

A dedicated team from the Belapur office, led by Assistant Commissioner Dr. Amol Palve, executed the operation. The team included junior engineers, laborers, and encroachment department officials, supported by police personnel. Equipped with hammers and gas cutters, they ensured the removal of illegal structures.

NMMC has reiterated its commitment to maintaining urban discipline and warned that strict action will continue against unauthorized constructions in the city.
