Navi Mumbai: Vibgyor High School, Airoli, emerged as the overall winner in the Inter-School Cultural Cup conducted by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC). The prize distribution ceremony was graced by NMMC Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, renowned music composer Rahul Ranade, and actor-dancer Nakul Ghanekar. Speaking at the event, Dr. Shinde emphasized the importance of nurturing cultural talent alongside academics.
Competitions included singing, dance, short plays, and street plays, with top-performing schools earning points. The school with the highest cumulative score was awarded the NMMC Inter-School Cultural Cup 2024-25. With an impressive 325 points, VIBGYOR High School, Airoli, emerged as the overall winner.
Category Winners:
- Singing: VIBGYOR High School, Airoli, won in the junior category, while Modern School, Vashi, secured first place in the senior category.
- Dance: Terna Vidyalaya, Nerul, and NMMC School No. 47, Rabade, topped the junior and senior groups, respectively.
- Short Play: VIBGYOR High School, Airoli, took first place.
- Street Play: NMMC School No. 92, Kukshet, won the top prize.
Judges praised the students’ performances, with Rahul Ranade stressing the importance of regular practice and Nakul Ghanekar highlighting the role of mentors in learning the arts. The event reinforced NMMC’s commitment to fostering cultural development among young students.
