Date:

Panvel: The Panvel Municipal Corporation’s intensified property seizure drive against tax defaulters has started yielding results. Following the orders of Commissioner Mangesh Chitale, the corporation’s Property Tax Collection and Assessment Department has been actively executing seizures and recoveries. Over the past four days, 25 properties have been seized as part of this action, leading to a significant increase in daily property tax collections, amounting to crores of rupees.

As per the commissioner’s directive, recovery teams in each department are taking action against tax defaulters, resulting in a daily rise in tax collections. In the last four days alone, Rs 6.5 crores have been collected. Prominent companies such as Bharti Vidyapeeth, United Beverages, Grovel, Western Super Fresh, Glass Tech, Sahara, and Amul have cleared a substantial portion of their outstanding property taxes, contributing to the overall tax revenue. So far, in this financial year, the total property tax collected has reached Rs 358 crores.

To further strengthen the recovery process, additional manpower has been deployed under the leadership of Tax Officers Mahesh Gaikwad and Sunil Bhoir. More teams have been added to accelerate the recovery process. The intensified seizure drive has encouraged more property owners to clear their outstanding tax dues.

The municipal corporation has developed the ‘PMC TAX APP’ for online property tax payments. Citizens can also pay their taxes through the official websitewww.panvelmc.org. As announced by the municipal administration, property owners can contact the toll-free number 1800-5320-340 for any queries.
