Navi Mumbai: In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, a Women’s Mini Marathon will be organized to spread awareness about cleanliness and healthy living. The event, titled “Run for Clean Navi Mumbai”, is a joint initiative by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) and Dr. D.Y. Patil Deemed to Be University, School of Hospitality & Tourism Studies, under the campaign “Ghe Bharari”.
The marathon will commence at 6:30 AM from the main entrance of Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium, located along the Sion-Panvel Highway. The 5 km race will see women of all age groups running to promote cleanliness while also emphasizing the importance of an active lifestyle.
Apart from encouraging women’s empowerment, the event aims to boost awareness about waste segregation at the household level and contribute to the vision of a clean and green Navi Mumbai. Participants will not only showcase their strength and determination but also play a role in inspiring sustainable and inclusive urban development.
