KALYAN: Two senior lawyers were trapped inside a lift for nearly an hour at the new building of the Kalyan Court after it suddenly stopped working, triggering strong anger among the legal fraternity. The lawyers were later rescued safely, but the incident led to a sit-in protest inside the court premises.

Lift Breakdown Leaves Lawyers Struggling for Air

The lift in the new court building broke down without warning, leaving two senior lawyers stranded inside for around an hour. As it became difficult for air to reach inside the lift, the health of the lawyers reportedly deteriorated.

Emergency Helpline Went Unanswered

Calls were made repeatedly to the emergency helpline number displayed for the lift, but no one responded. The lack of response caused panic and a rush of activity across the Kalyan Court premises.

Fire Brigade Rescues the Lawyers

The fire brigade was eventually called to the spot, and the two lawyers were brought out of the lift safely.

Lawyers Protest Against PWD and Mahavitaran

The lawyers’ association has turned aggressive over what it described as the poor functioning of the Public Works Department (PWD) and Mahavitaran (MSEB). Lawyers staged a sit-in protest inside the court premises and strongly condemned Mahavitaran and the administration. The protest created a tense atmosphere in and around the court complex.
