Uran: In a proactive move to prevent loss of life and property during the monsoon season, the Uran Municipal Council has issued notices to 25 buildings declared dangerous within the city limits. Residents have been instructed to vacate these structures as a precautionary measure.
The civic body initiated this action to mitigate the risk of accidents or casualties resulting from the collapse of dilapidated buildings or parts thereof during heavy rains and strong winds. “We are undertaking this campaign to ensure the safety of citizens by vacating dangerous buildings in the city,” said City Engineer Nikhil Dore.
Due to the narrow lanes in many parts of Uran, rescue operations could face significant challenges in the event of a building collapse. Therefore, the Council emphasized the urgency of vacating such structures to facilitate timely emergency response if needed.
The Uran Municipal Council has assured residents that arrangements will be made to accommodate affected families in public shelters during emergencies. However, officials have urged residents to cooperate by vacating their homes promptly to avoid unforeseen tragedies.
