Navi Mumbai: Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has achieved a milestone by becoming the first civic body in Maharashtra to achieve 100% registration within the prescribed timeline under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). In recognition of this outstanding performance, PMC was honoured by the state government at a special ceremony held at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium. Health Minister Prakash Abitkar presented the civic body with a commemorative memento for its pioneering efforts in advancing digital healthcare.
The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, a flagship initiative of the Central Government, is designed to digitally transform India’s healthcare system by making it more transparent, accessible, and citizen-centric. A key element of the mission is the creation of a unique 14-digit Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID for every citizen, enabling them to access their health records digitally and securely.

Under the dynamic leadership of Municipal Commissioner Mr. Mangesh Chitale, PMC not only achieved but also led the way in completing the mission’s registration targets. The initiative was executed efficiently with the support of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vaibhav Vidhate, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anand Gosavi, and the entire medical and health department team.
As part of the mission, Panvel Municipal Corporation also completed the digital registration of government and private hospitals, as well as healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. The success of the program has significantly reduced reliance on paper records, streamlined hospital visits, and ensured easier access to patient health data across healthcare providers.
This honor not only recognizes PMC’s commitment to digital innovation but also sets a benchmark for other civic bodies across the state.
