The campaign will focus on early detection and treatment of oral, breast, and cervical cancers.
Kalyan: Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation’s (KDMC) Health Department has launched “Mission Shakti: Cancer-Free Campaign”, a major health initiative conceptualized by Municipal Commissioner Abhinav Goyal. Under this ambitious program, special cancer screening camps will be organized in collaboration with Tata Memorial Hospital, with a strong focus on women’s health.
The campaign will emphasize the early detection, further testing, and treatment of oral, breast, and cervical cancers.
Door-to-Door Survey
As part of the campaign, ASHA workers will conduct a door-to-door health survey across the municipal limits. Women showing suspected symptoms will be examined by a team of medical experts from Tata Memorial Centre along with doctors from civic health centers. If necessary, further treatment will be carried out at Tata Memorial Hospital.
On August 15, Commissioner Abhinav Goyal unveiled the emblem of “Mission Shakti – Cancer-Free Campaign.” Expressing confidence, he said that the joint efforts of Tata Hospital and KDMC would mark a significant step forward in safeguarding women’s health.
